Professor Johan Rosman

Professor Johan Rosman is a Specialist Nephrologist and Specialist in difficult to treat Hypertension. 

Born and raised in Groningen The Netherlands, he completed his Medical Training and specialisation in Internal Medicine, Nephrology and Hypertension in Germany and Switzerland. After working in these countries Johan moved to New Zealand and then to Perth in 2011. 

Johan is now the Foundation Professor of Medicine and Director of Clinical Education at the Curtin Medical School, and also a Nephrologist at Royal Perth Hospital.  

He has published 120 articles of his research in peer reviewed journals and has won numerous awards for his research and also for his clinical work over the years. 

Johan is passionate about communication between General Practice and secondary/tertiary care. This is very much standard in the countries where he trained, but he misses this in Australia where these pillars too often work separately. He loves to take calls from GP’s for advice (mobile 0416 961 611) and believes that good healthcare can only be delivered by close interaction.  

Special focus: Acute and Chronic Kidney Disease, Hypertension, Diabetes, and Stone Disease.  New patient consultations are one hour and follow up consultations are 30 minutes, warranting patient centred care.  

Johan consults at his private practice at The Queensgate Specialist Centre every 2nd Wednesday and at the Hollywood Medical Centre alternate Wednesdays.
